About the Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of penne pasta

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 Jar of Big Tone's Homemade Arrabbiata sauce

  • Grated Parmesan cheese to taste

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

  • Red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Preparation

  1. Cook the Pasta:

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. Season and Cook the Chicken:

    • Season the chicken breast strips with salt and black pepper.

    • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken strips and cook until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  3. Prepare the Arrabbiata Sauce:

    • In the same skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.

    • Stir in the Arrabbiata sauce and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

    • (Optional) Add the red pepper flakes. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the sauce.

  4. Combine Pasta, Chicken, and Sauce:

    • Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet with the Arrabbiata sauce. Toss until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.

    • Add the cooked chicken strips back into the skillet with the pasta and sauce. Toss gently to combine.

  5. Serve:

    • Divide the Chicken Arrabbiata Pasta among serving plates.

    • Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over each portion.

    • Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.

    • Serve hot and enjoy this spicy and flavorful Italian dish with your family!
