Ingredients

  • Lasagna noodles (oven-ready or pre-cooked according to package instructions)

  • 1 Jar of Big Tone's Homemade Marinara Sauce + more for afterwards

  • Ground beef or Italian sausage (optional)

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese

  • 1 cup shredded fontina cheese

  • Spinach (optional)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Prepare the Meat Sauce (Optional):

    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.

    • Add ground beef or Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed.

    • Stir in Big Tone's Homemade Marinara Sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes.

  3. Prepare the Cheeses:

    • In a bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, shredded Parmesan cheese, shredded provolone cheese, and shredded fontina cheese.

  4. Assemble the Lasagna:

    • Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

    • Place three lasagna noodles on top of the sauce, slightly overlapping.

    • Spread a layer of the cheese mixture over the noodles.

    • Spoon a layer of the meat sauce over the cheese mixture. (If using).

    • Repeat the layers: noodles, cheese mixture, meat sauce, until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of marinara sauce on top.

  5. Bake the Lasagna:

    • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.

    • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  6. Serve:

    • Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

    • Serve hot.
